Today is the first Thursday of May, where many Christians participate in "The National Day of Prayer." A time to pray for our country, our Military, our families, our churches, revival, and God's Hand for His people. I believe that every Church in America, should open their doors to this event. It is something that I am very passionate about, and something that I have tried to have at our church every year. This year we will not be having the event, so I will try to find somewhere to go this evening where the event is taking place.
My prayer for this event.."Dear Lord, first I come to You and confess my sin before You. My sin of pride, my sin of selfishness at times, times that I have wrong motives, the times that I want to take credit for something that is all You. I confess to You about an issue that You have been asking me to give up, that I still try to justify and hang on too. I confess to You my critical spirit at times, and the times that I talk against my brothers and sisters in Christ. I confess to You my lies at times, and I confess to You the times that I try to bargain with You. All these sins I confess to You, and ask for Your forgiveness, and that not only would I confess them to You, but that I would repent from them, give me the desire and willingness to turn away from them..not in my own strength, but by the power of Your Holy Spirit.
I want to come and pray for our Country. Lord that we would turn our hearts back to You. The Government, the schools, Our military, and our families. That we would have a fear of You again, that unless we turn our hearts back to You, You will remove Your hand from us. I lift up our Government and the 2012 Presidential election. Lord put men in office that love You, that pray, that have morals and convictions for Your Word. I lift up our Military to You, for the Chaplains, that men would pray, and that the leadership would hunger for Your Word and for Your righteousness. For our families, Lord bring back a sense of who You are in our families. Families and kids are so desensitized in this day, For husbands and fathers, that they would desire to be the spiritual leaders of their homes..that they would man up and be men, be warriors for You..for our schools, I pray Lord that You would raise up teachers that pray for their schools and for their students, that they would stand up against any sort of teaching that is not from You.
Lord for our Churches, I especially pray for discernment of Your Word. That NO false teaching would creep in. That Pastors would be men of boldness for Your Word only. That they would not allow anything to tickle their ears. I pray against the emergent churches, the seeker friendly churches..and I pray for the Bible believing only church..that will stand on Your Word only, and preach Truth. I ask in the Name of Jesus, Lord that You would come against the enemy that wants to bring lies, so subtly against Your truth. We need wise men in the church today. Especially Today, so many of Your people are being sucked away from Your truth. I pray that every Christian would hunger, and read Your Word, and stand up for Truth. Give us discernment, for Your truth.
Today as prayers are going out, I pray that everyday would be a National Day of Prayer..that we would do battle on our knees. Make us warriors for You. That daily we would put on the Whole Armor of God. I pray for revival for this country, and salvation for all the lost. God we need a revival, but it only begins when Your people humble themselves and pray and seek Your face, and turn from our wicked ways, will revival come...Lord may that happen soon, and come quickly Lord Jesus come, but not until all that You want saved.. I love You, your daughter
